Totally free gClip is Linux Gtk2 (Gtk+) based Clipboard Manager [source][license][donate]

gClip is very highly tested, but delivered without any waranty.

Installation for Debian, Ubuntu and etc. (Gtk2 and Gtk2::TrayIcon are required).

Main features

gClip "sniffs" Clipboard and Primary-buffer, and stores text-data to the files (items).
Items can be pushed back to Clipboard or Primary-buffer, and viewed (or edited) with text-editor in any time.
gClip removes old items (files) item by item when setting overcomes (Items visible).

Desirable items can be locked for prevent to be removed ever.
Locked items have they own submenu (bottom of the main menu).

gClip can be "disconnected" (remembers state after closing, boot, etc).
When "disconnected" gClip will no record clipboard changes.
At this point gClip will show Primary selection content, regardless is it "disconnected" or not.
Primary selection data is not saved anywhere if state is "disconnected".

Short begin of the current Clipboard content is viewed in 2nd row of the menu,
3rd row is viewing current Primary selection content.
Click 2nd row and full current Clipboard content will be opened with selected program (Editor).
Click 3rd row and current Primary selection will be saved to file, a new line goes top of the item list.

If item is URL, it can be opened with web browser (Browser).
If item is path to file, file can be opened program in demand (Open target with..).
If item is path to directory, directory can be opened with file manager.
Auto-supported file managers are: Nautilus, Thunar, PCManFM and ROX-Filer. [pic]

Settings

Items visible
Count of items visible in menu.

Item length
Menu item text lenght, min 10 max 99 chars.

Browser
Your favourite Web-browser for opening URLs

Editor
Text-editor to be used to view/edit clipboard items.

Open target with..
Space separated list of programs.
"Open target with.." menu will come visible when clipboard item starts with /path/to/file1 or file:///path/to/file1
Only existing executable programs will be showed in "Open target with.." menu.
Program must found in $PATH env paths (changed 20070117.1)

Autostart
If selected, gClip will start within window manager (Gnome and Xfce4).

Save clipboard history
If selected, items will NOT be removed when program exits.
If not selected, locked items will still keeped in memory.

Use Primary buffer
If selected, Primary-buffer is in use too. Please practise how it works.
Select (paint) something somewhere and click gClip tray-icon with mouse middle button.
New item will be saved. Saving can be done by clicking menus 3rd row too,
that same row where current Primary content is showed all the time.

Show tooltips
If not selected message-bubbles are hided.
